Oh Yeah, life is good!

Friday Evening before the Picnic

One of the best ways we know to reconnect with old friends is in a comfortable, casual atmosphere along with a little something to eat and drink.A Beer Garden seems perfect and the evening before the picnic (which is always the first Saturday in June) fits nicely in the annual calendar.

So let’s plan on it!  —

Greetings SMMA Alum’s –

Over my ten plus years as Pastor of our wonderful parish, I’ve developed a favorite phrase…Staff Ernst, Msgr Norb.. “We love our graduates!”  As we observe Catholic Schools Week, I offer a very special WELCOME BACK to each of you.  I hope you thoroughly enjoy your “walk down memory lane” especially catching up with each other and your teachers.  As we celebrate the 50th Anniversary of our Parish Catholic School we’re also very excited about the future.  Our school is indeed Alive in Christ with our students and teachers striving daily to be the hands, heart and feet of Jesus for others.

God bless you!

Calling All Alumni – Open House & Spaghetti Dinner

What are you doing Sunday, January 25, 2015 ?

SMMA is hosting an Open House and free Spaghetti Dinner, 12:30 – 3:30,  to open Catholic Schools Week.  The dinner is in honor of SMMA’s School’s 50th Anniversary and we are issuing a special invitation to all of our alumni.  We would love to see our halls filled with people re-connecting sharing stories and feeling “at-hone” once again. Hope you can make it!

Nostalgic Yet?

I’ve heard it said that it takes about 20 years before nostalgia sets in.  If that’s true then we have at least 30 years of nostalgic alumni. Hopefully yours were “Happy Days.”  If not, we apologize, beg Graduation 76your forgiveness and don’t want to make you relive those experiences. If they were, we would love to hear your stories and celebrate with you.

People with Class….

Each class is a collection of individuals but each class also developed a “character” al its own. How would you describe your class?  I often encounter former students who rememSMMA Class of 1975ber their class as “troublesome” and i don;t remember it that way at all.  I usually remember them fondly with gratitude for having had an opportunity to be  part of their story.

Welcome SMMA Alumni

St. Margaret Mary Alacoque Parish was established April 30, 1962.  SMMA School opened in September, 1964 with 99 students in grades K-4.  The following year grades 5-8 were added and in 1966, 23 students comprised the first graduating class.  Over the past 50 years nearly 3000 students have graduated from SMMA.  That means that a lot of  people have shared many experiences, developed life-long friendships and thus have good reasons for trying to stay in touch as life moves us all around.  We hope that this site and our Facebook page will help many of us do that.
